Our support to Day of Hope – the international day for Tay-Sachs and Sandhoff disease
On the 20th September 2014 The Cure & Action for Tay-Sachs (CATS) Foundation held its first group walk to celebrate Day of Hope. This date in September is special for all of those who have a loved one affected by Tay-Sachs or Sandhoff disease as it is the official international awareness raising day for the diseases. Everyone around the world came together to show their support in our fight against these devastating illnesses and every day we are moving a step closer towards finding an effective treatment for them.
The first Day of Hope was held on the 18th September 2011 and was launched by The National Tay-Sachs and Allied Diseases (NTSAD) charity based in the United States of America
Now in its 4th year
Now in its fourth year, The CATS Foundation held its first walk in Cardiff and this was organised by two of our family patrons, Brad and Lauren Watson. The route took us all around Cardiff Bay and we were lucky to have fantastic weather for the entire day!
We were joined by lots of families and friends who have been affected by Tay-Sachs and Sandhoff disease and it was a fantastic opportunity for us all to meet up as a group. We want to say a big thank you to everyone who came along and also to the Watson family for organising such a great event!
