Introducing The Jelf CATS 10K Challenge
What is The CATS 10K Challenge
The The CATS 10K Challenge is a large year long event we have planned to help us raise awareness of Tay-Sachs and to also raise money in the fight against the disease.
The plan is to get someone different to run 10km for THE CATS FOUNDATION every single day for a year. The CATS 10K Challenge begins on the 27th July 2012 and will end one year later.
How to take part
It is very easy to take part – all you have to do is search through our online calender and find a date which we do not yet have a runner for (you can find the online calender here). Once you have chosen your date then all you have to do is complete a simple online form so we can add you to our list and so we can also send you a running top we have had created for the event (you can access the online form here).
We are encouraging people to chose a day which we have free – but if you are unable to run on any of the these days then please feel free to run on a day which we already have a runner for.
You can complete your run either running your own route or during an organised event – the choice is yours!
6 simple steps to taking part
Below are the six simple steps we have put together which you can follow to take part in The CATS 10K Challenge. Below this we have explained each step in greater detail.
- Find a date which currently does not have a runner – highlighted in orange
- Fill in the online form – complete with your details (this can be accessed by clicking here) and wait for your confirmation email
- Make your donation on JustGiving – you can access the fundraising page here
- Receive your running vest in the post – we will send this to you a week before your run
- Run your 10k on your allocated date – we will send you a reminder email the day before
- Take your picture after your 10k – then send it to us by email here
1. Find a date which does not have a runner
As we have to find a different runner for 365 days we are encouraging people to chose days which we have free – these are shown in orange on the online calender which you can access here.
However, we do not want to discourage people from taking part – so if the only day you can run your 10km on already has someone assigned to it then please feel free to run that buy cytotec online day. All you have to do is sign up using the online form here.
2. Fill in the online form
The online form (accessable here) is very simple to complete. We need your name, email and address so that we can add you to the online calender and so we can contact you (via email) to send you your running date confirmation. We need your address to be able to send you the running vest – please be assured that this information will not be shared with anyone at all.
Once you have completed the form please check your junk and/or spam folder as your email provider may mark your running date confirmation email as spam!
3. Make your donation on JustGiving
We are asking people to make a donation of a minimum of £10 to take part in The CATS 10K Challenge. This will pay for your running top and also help us raise funds in the fight against Tay-Sachs.
You can access The CATS 10K Challenge Justgiving page by clicking here – it is very easy to make a donation.
4. Receive your running vest in the post
We will send you your running top at least one week before your running date. If you are an international runner we will send this a least two weeks before to make sure the top arrives.
If your top does not arrive then please get in touch using the contact us page here – if we have any problems sending your top we will send you an email.
5. Run your 10k on your allocated date
Enjoy your run on your allocated date! We will send you a reminder email a few days before – if you are not able to take part that day then please let us know using the contact us page here so we can arrange someone else to run instead of you.
Please remember to wear your The CATS 10K Challenge running top to help us raise awareness of Tay-Sachs!
6. Take your picture after your 10k
Once you have completed your run we would like people to send us a picture of you afterwards in your running top. We will have these added to the website and also to THE CATS FOUNDATION Facebook page.
There are two ways you can send your picture to us – either via email or uploading the image to Facebook – the links to these are shown below.
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has and is taking part in The CATS 10K Challenge – you are all helping us raise awareness of Tay-Sachs!
