We would like to thank everyone who read the story and shared it with others – hopefully this will help us raise awareness of Tay-Sachs and of THE CATS FOUNDATION.
Daniel is the father of a little girl called Amelie who was diagnosed with Tay-Sachs in March 2011 when she was 15 months old. After slowly coming to terms with what the future held, Daniel, his wife Patricia and their friends started THE CATS FOUNDATION to raise awareness of the disease and to provide fund raising opportunities so that a potential treatment can be found.

  1. This article was pointed out to me by my mum. Its so sad that even after so many years after our own loss this condition is still prevelant. Our son would have been 30 this year but even after 27 since our loss that pain is still there.

    • Hi Lloyd – I am very sorry to hear that you lost your son to Tay-Sachs.

We are trying to raise awareness of the disease and to raise as much money as possible for a trial that could potentially provide a long term treatment from the disease. They are very close to getting things started for the end of 2012/beginning of 2013 which will hopefully help a lot of families.
