Day of Hope 2014 Walk in Cardiff

Day of Hope 2014 Walk in Cardiff

On the 20th September 2014 the 4th annual Day of Hope will be celebrated all around the world. The Day of Hope is an important date in our dairy at the charity as it is the international awareness raising day for Tay-Sachs and Sandhoff disease.

Our 2014 walk for Day of Hope

This is the second year that The Cure & Action for Tay-Sachs (CATS) Foundation will be holding an event to celebrate Day of Hope. This year, our family patrons Lauren and Brad Watson have arranged for a walk to take place in Cardiff. This walk will allow many of our charity supporters to get together and catch up, discuss our progress and to raise the profile of Tay-Sachs and Sandhoff disease to a wider audience.

The walk is starting from the Oystercatcher pub in Penrath (click here for details) we will walk via the Cardiff barrage over to Cardiff bay and then back again. There will then be the opportunity to have some food and drinks at the pub. To help raise awareness of Day of Hope everyone will get the opportunity to wear one of our special event t-shirts which have been made for the day!

If you would like to join us at the event then please simply visit the event page on Facebook here.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the Day of Hope walk!

Daniel is the father of a little girl called Amelie who was diagnosed with Tay-Sachs in March 2011 when she was 15 months old. After slowly coming to terms with what the future held, Daniel, his wife Patricia and their friends started THE CATS FOUNDATION to raise awareness of the disease and to provide fund raising opportunities so that a potential treatment can be found.
